Roman Dodecahedron Beading Tutorial
This is a step-by-step tutorial for Roman Dodecahedron as pictured above in salmon/peach and pink/amethyst. The finished piece is about 3 in./8 cm. The tutorial contains clear instructions, pictures and patterns. A materials list is also included. Experience level required: intermediate to advanced, experience with peyote stitch and herringbone increases. This dodecahedron is made out of 12 pentagons that are built on an existing pentagon. This methode is based on Jay Dee Casting Spine made out of a pod developed by Contemporary Geometric Beadwork. First we’ll build our casting pentagon, then we’ll build 12 pentagons on the casting pentagon and finally we’ll join them together along the edges. This pattern is for beaders who are able to work from a Jay Dee Casting Spine or a Podcast Bead developed by Contemporary Geometric Beadwork and is definitely not suitable for beginner beaders.
